Sales & Events

In order for the PTO to be effective, fundraising is necessary.  From attending a family event to participating in the fall fundraising sale to clipping Box Tops from products you already purchase, there are many opportunities for you to help raise funds for the PTO to use to purchase materials for the school.  Below is a summary of the PTO fundraising sales and events that you can expect to receive information on throughout the year.  Take a moment to read over it so you can consider how your family may be able to help this year.  If you have any questions or comments on any PTO issue, please send an e-mail to hillcrestelementaryschoolpto@yahoo.com.

No-Cost Fundraising -- Simple ways to raise money for Hillcrest PTO

Clipping Box Tops:  Watch for the Box Tops for Education logo on many grocery products you are already buying.  We receive 10 cents for each Box Top clipped.  Check www.btfe.com regularly for chances to enter to win BONUS BOX TOPS.  Online Shopping:  Box Tops isn't just about clipping anymore!  Shop online at your favorite stores through the Box Top Marketplace and Hillcrest PTO earns cash at no additional cost to you!  Visit www.btfe.com to get started shopping at Kohl's, Land's End, Old Navy, Gap, Circuit City, Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, and MANY MORE!! Clipping Soup Labels:  Send in Campbell's Soup labels for Hillcrest PTO to earn credits to buy equipment for the school.  Visit www.labelsforeducation.com for more information.

Clipping Tyson Labels:  Clip labels from frozen Tyson products. Hillcrest receives 24 cents for every label clipped from Tyson frozen chicken products. Click HERE to download the collection information sheet.

Buy Scrip Gift Cards: Through Great Lakes Scrip, www.glscrip.com, Hillcrest PTO sells gift cards too many local retailers and restaurants. You can purchase the cards to give as gifts or to use for your regular shopping. You purchase the cards at face value and Hillcrest PTO receives a percentage of the purchase at no additional cost to you.

Fall Fundraiser

The majority of the PTO funds come through two fall fundraisers.  Funds from these sales enable us to purchase many items for the school that enhance our children's educational experience.  For 2010/11, we will be selling Entertainment Books and Sally Foster/Cookie Dough.  If you are able to participate in any of these fundraisers, watch your child's backpack for information.  If you are not able to participate, all we ask is that you return the materials when they are sent out.

Events

Throughout the year, Hillcrest PTO offers family events like Skate on Grand, Culver's Scoopie Night, Pancake Breakfast, Book Fair family nights, and Fun Fair as well as Kids' Night Out which bring in some funds, but also focus on opportunities for families to come out and be part of the Hillcrest community.

Miscellaneous Sales

Throughout the school year, there are periodic sales that raise money, but are not run as the type of a fundraiser that you sell things to friends and family, but rather just purchase goods for your own household.  These sales include:  monthly Schwans Truckload Sale, two Book Fairs (www.scholastic.com), spiritwear, yearbook, spring plant sale, and pizza nights by Rosati's of Lindenhurst as well as Little Caesars.
