NOTICE OF MEETING The Antioch District 34 Parent Teacher Organization (PTO), Inc. The Board of Directors of the corporation will be holding A meeting for the Corporation on Thursday, February 9, 2012 at 7:30pm At Antioch Upper Grade School In the Office Conference Room 800 Highview Drive Antioch, IL The main purpose of this meeting is to amend Article 5 of the Articles of Incorporation to comply with the request of the Internal Revenue Service regarding the application for the Corporation’s 501c3 designation. A meeting for the Outdoor Classroom is scheduled for February 12th at 6:30 pm. This meeting will be held at the Antioch Methodist Church. What is the Outdoor Classroom: $10,000 was allocated for the development of an outdoor classroom in the Hillcrest backyard.
A team has been assembled to manage this exciting project. To date, the team has completed research on outdoor classrooms, surveyed the staff, obtained School Board approval to proceed with the project and has begun to met with landscape designers and architects.
Ideas for this outdoor area include a weather station, various gardens, trail, bird feeders, compost area, rain barrel and an outdoor work/learning center.

Fun Fair The Fun Fair is just around the corner on Saturday, March 3rd from 10 to 3pm and the Hillcrest PTO is in need of your help. To have a successful Fun Fair we need to fill 160 volunteer hours from the parents of Hillcrest. There are many exciting opportunities to give your time to such as working concessions, running carnival games, face painting and selling tickets. The volunteer times available are: 9:30 to 11:00, 11:30 to 1:30, 1:30 to 3:30. If you can help out at this great family event or if you have questions than email us at hillcrestelementaryschoolpto@yahoo.com. We hope to see you all there!
Eating pizza can help Antioch District 34 PTOs From 10:30am to 10:00pm on Dec. 21st or April 5th, place an order from Rosati’s in Lindenhurst. Mention you have this coupon (Click HERE to download) and present at time of pick up or delivery and Rosati’s will donate 25% of all sales to Antioch District 34 PTOs.
The Spring Book Fair takes place April 16-20, 2012. The planning has begun and we could use a Co-chair to help out and learn the ropes. We also need help for set-up, reading stories during the school day, helping students fill out wish lists, running registers, Family Night and taking everything down at the end of the fair.
